The Born PT-LIF Cage HA consists of the polymer PEEK-OPTIMA™ HA Enhanced from Invibio Biomaterial Solutions, a combination of biocompatible PEEK-OPTIMA™ Natural (PolyEtherEtherKetone) and Hydroxylapatit1-4 (HA), a well-known osteoconductive material similar to bone. Clinical benefits of Invibio Polymer include a modulus of elasticity similar to cortical bone, reduced stress shielding (bone resorption) and artifact-free imaging that allows clear evaluation of healing and fusion5,6.

Initial clinical results show potential benefits for patients and targeted improvements when using cages from PEEK-OPTIMA™ HA Enhanced. Cages made from the material have been implanted in the USA since 2015. These include firm fusions and dense bone apposition in CT images after six months, improvements in pain perception and neurological function, as well as better clinical results at an earlier time8. for PEEK-OPTIMA™ HA Enhanced direct bone contact is more consistent and homogenous9.
